Night Light
Tonight I went down to the beach with J.Mo and Mar. Reid State was rather buggy, but beautiful. The moon was out and the sky was gorgeous! First Marie and I waited down by the waterfront in bath for John to get out of work and we snapped a few shots on the pier by the town docks. Note that A. these chain links are like 8 by 15 inches each, and B. this shot was taken at night with almost no...

Joe and Mar Photoshoot
Marie and I decided to do some portraits last night, so we set up a little diy lighting setup with some cheap white rolls of paper for kids drawing easel as the background, a 800 watt barn light for the main light bounced off a white bounce card front camera left, 400 watt clamp halogen at a white bounce card front camera right, then some shots used some desk lamps to light up the backdrop, some...

Dramatic Beantown
At 2am this morning I drove down to Boston to drop Sam of at Logan for a trip out to Seattle. I dropped him off around 4:30 then went up to Revere beach to watch the sunrise over Boston Harbor. Needless to say, there were far too many bugs, the smell on Revere beach was horrible, and the clouds hindered the whole sun rising thing.  I did get a few cool shots though. Then I snapped this one as...

The yellow jackets... oh they're dead.
My father bought this trap at Reny’s that you just add a sugar-water solution to and magically bees and other pesky little flying pests trap themselves.  Ingenious.

Septic System
So this week I went up to our camp to help my father dig a BIG hole for a BIG septic tank for our rental cottage. So after two days of digging the 6x6x15 foot hole through roots, rocks, and wet clay with our Kubota… we now have our 1000 gallon tank in the ground! Here’s our actual camp over on the lot next door.

Painting and the Kennebec @ Night
Today I did some domestic repairs; I scraped and painted the corner of my house. Then I barbecued some delicious steak. Magic fish seasoning… incredible. Then since it was such a gorgeous day, I decided to take my boat out on the river for a little sunset ride and got some beautiful shots of my locale.

Hot Boring Summer Days
Today it’s 90˚ so I avoided the heat by staying inside in front of the fan.  I did though venture into the heat to capture a picture or two… These are some silhouette birds I saw the NH Liquor store during my trip back to Maine the other day:

Impromptu Photoshoot with Rachel
Rachel dyed her hair “chocolate brown” yesterday and wanted to get some photos done, so I took a bunch for her. Miraculously these were taken in her basement on her white wall, my off-camera strobe, and some white posterboard used as a bounce card.

Sugar Cubes For The Manly Man
I came across these awesome cinderblock sugar blocks today on Curbly.com. Super cool. I drink my coffee black, but this would seriously tempt me!

I need Maine, like now.
I’m dying here in MA with nothing to do and my creativity is stumped… here’s a fun photo I took this summer in Topsham, ME on the side of the road.

Kennebec Ride
Today Rachel and I took my boat out in the gorgeous weather on the Kennebec for a few hours. Then we went to L.L. Bean in Freeport, ME to check out a Blues Traveler show for free! We didn’t get to se much, this is a pretty decent view of what we could see from where we were.
